best sunscreen for face

I have lupus which means I absolutely cannot have any sun exposure. My rheumatologist told me to never go outside wearing any less than a 40 sunblock. I found this upsetting to me since most high sunblocks are so thick & white you really don't want them on your face or they make you break out. I was so shocked to find this one! It's amazingly light. It glides on perfectly. Since I do have slightly dry skin it works perfectly! I also love the way it's easy to shake up with the ball inside. It's a little pricey...but worth it to know I will actually apply sunscreen to my face now which is detrimental to my health. Thanks Laura Mercier for making such a wonderful product that you can apply enough of to work. Now if you would just make one just as lightweight and potent for the body.....& a little cheaper!

I am a sunphobe, and I am diligent about daily use of sunscreen. My skin is normal to slightly dry. I have searched for years, and tried dozens of brands but wasn't totally thrilled with any of them. This one is absolutely tops, except the price prohibits me from using it on the body. But it is simply great on the face and neck. It is a thin lotion, so a little goes a long way. It has no fragrance, absorbs quickly and completely, dries to a soft matte feel and finish, and my makeup wears beautifully under it all day. Best ever, thank you Laura Mercier!

This really feels like you're putting on sunscreen, not a moisturizer with SPF. I prfer a lighter weight formula.

Attributes: actually refreshing!
I live in Florida, and am nearing the age of 40 so as you would guess I NEED to be using a daily sunblock (shame on me for not starting sooner). I can not even COUNT how many bottles of Moisturizer with SPF there are, sitting around my sink. I have been trying for TWO YEARS to find a Moisturizer w/ SPF that is light, refreshing (I had given up on refreshing), does NOT leave me feeling greasy and does NOT leave that "white film" glazed on top of my skin. I had ordered some OTHER LM products and received THIS as a sample. Well, I just used the sample today for the first time, and just from this first use I can tell you I have found THE ANSWER.
This product went on LIGHT, smooth, absolutely NO white film, and the best (and oddest) part: my skin felt refreshed after using it! I put it on as the last step of a four part regimen, and it still (even after three other layers) left my skin feeling all of the things I mentioned before. I am soooooo excited and will immediately tell everyone I know about this. (OR, I will just give them all the other SPF products that failed me ... and keep this one as a secret!)

Light Facial Sunscreen

I tried this when it first came out this summer, looking for a sunscreen that would provide full protection under makeup without that shiny look. It seems to be a very effective sunscreen, but I haven't been as happy with its performance under makeup as I would like, at least in the T-zone where my skin is oily. On the drier parts of the face it works great under makeup. However, I have ended up using it mostly with just powder over it. It is a light thin lotion that spreads and absorbs easily. It is fairly expensive but a container should last a whole summer if you use it only on the face.
