Orchid applies lighter and pearlier than the shade it appears in the compact: perfect for warm weather and I'm looking forward to using it for spring/summer! All of the Mercier eyeshadows I've purchased have been finely pigmented, longlasting and versatile.

I am fair-skinned, and Stellar is my new base shadow color. I love the shimmer, yet it looks like I have a natural glow. I use it as my brightener in the corner eye area, then sweep it all over my lid and under the brow bone. I think it's a wonderful neutral, neither gold nor silver, not too white, either. I can't wait to buy my other three eye-design colors in this line (I'm converting from my old makeup to LM as the old gets used up).

Such a briilliant product. This goes on soft as satin, blends easy, so even a novice can get it right. Highly pigmented, but not so much so that you have to do too much blending.
I have this product in Bamboo and Gold Dust. Both are lovely.
They don't flake off or fly away on application, a definite plus. It's also easy to layer clors on top or beneath.
Very versatile.

I only own Haze, so it is difficult for me to comment on Sateen Eye Colour in general, or compare it to the Luster and Matte series. Haze is a powdery light blue that goes on lighter than it looks in the pan. I think it would be gorgeous on pale skins with cool undertones and brighten up the eyelids. However, I have a lot of sallowness and warmth in my skin, and it can look unnatural on me.

I have the Sateen shadow Sandstone and Cognac. Kir Royal is next on my "to buy" list. Highly pigmented and glide on easily. The powder is finely milled just like her face powders for beautiful application. The Sateen is not too shimmery for my 54 year old eyes but still gives a nice sheen. Just pop them in Laura's Custom Compact and you're off!!

I love love love St. Germain! I have brownish amber eyes and this is really flattering. I wear this with Laura's Kohl Pencil in Black Turquoise and always get compliments. Incredibly feminine! This shadow is incredibly silky and easy to use, with wonderful color payoff.

there are really pretty colors, but honestly, for each eye "look", you need at least 2-3 shadows, which adds up quickly. i do like how sheer the shadows are, so they just give a little bit of color, but if you want something a little heavier, you're going to be layering it on for a while.

The sateen eye colors are the perfect combination of slight shimmer/not too over-the-top pigment/smooth blendability. When I wrote a "wishlist" of the colors I wanted in my collection, I found myself wanting almost all of them!
***Tip: I have extremely deep-set eyes. When I was at a LM National Artist event at my local dept store, one of the artists showed me a great tip. She put one color ("Lilac") all over my lid, then she put a LIGHTER color (it was either "Buttercream" - matte or "Sandstone" - sateen) in my crease. As a result, my eyes looked brighter and not nearly as deep set!

I purchased this in Guava at the recommendation of a Laura Mercier makeup artist, and it is the perfect color on my eyelids for day. It goes on smoothly and doesn't crease.

I use Guava (in the summer) and Sandstone (year-round). These are GREAT accessories to your colour pallette.
I use Rose and Cognac as crease colours.
As far as application goes, I recommend the All-Over Eye Colour Brush, as well as the Crease Brush.

Sandstone looks like a light, beigey pink on my brown eyes. It has slight shimmer but does not have that disco-ball effect. It is a staple in my makeup bag.
