I have very oily skin and the powder I was wearing was turning muddy 2 hours after I would apply it. My face was shiny and oily looking. The makeup just looked horrible!! A women in San Fransisco whom I spent a couple days with on a business trip noticed and at least had the nerve to tell me it did not look good. She took me to the mall and had me purchase Laura Mercier Foundation powder. Now my face looks normal with makeup on. No more oily mess! Even in the high humidity in the summer where I live it is holding up. I can't thank that lady enough for turning me on to it and Laura Mercier for making it!!

This powder is fabulous.
If you have oily skin or sweat a lot, this can't be beat. It doesn't melt off or become cakey.
This does become somewhat shiny if you are very oily, but the natural texture and ease of application override that.
Just use a little mattifying setting powder and you'll be perfect.

I've always been a liquid foundation type of person but lately it has been really hard to control shine and slippage so I decided to give powder foundation a try. I tried a couple that were terrible but when I came across this one I was ecstatic. This is top quality right here without a doubt. I barely have to apply it to my skin and it blends and covers beautifully. It's so darn easy and fool proof to use. The finish it gives is not overly powdery at all, which was a concern, but naturally matte and controls oil and shine wonderfully ALL day long. I never EVER need to touch up just the tiniest bit. And the pressed powder means no mess or spills at all! This is definitely one of my favs from Laura Mercier as it's my new Foundation. I hope Laura Mercier will never reformulate or discontinue this!

Superb Coverage for Nasty Sun Damage!!!

I have tried so many foundations (cream, liquid and powder) in search of the best to cover my nasty and annoying sun damage that looks like "maps" on my cheeks. So far, this powder has done the best job not only in the cover up department but also the way it feels once you put it on. It is powder, but it applies like cream.
I don't feel any dryness and it does not settle into lines. Application is mistake proof! I use the sponge for build-able coverage especially in the areas that need covering up the most. The sponge is so easy to clean. I wash it with warm water and soap every few days and I let it air dry.
I work in the film industry and on set a minimum of 12 hours a day with bright, hot lights. It stays on all day when I top it with the smooth focus pressed setting powder - shine control. When I am not on set, I finish it with the translucent pressed setting powder instead. I add blush last so I don't smudge/erase it with the sponge applicator.
I have already replenished it a few times. My search has ended! So should yours if you have the same concerns as I do!

I use this almost every day. I love that it gives a soft, matte look that isn't too heavy. I also like that it goes on quickly and the puff blends it very easily (I use it dry). It is much faster than fooling around with liquids or a 3-step mineral foundation. It also stays put. It is easy to wash off, but it does not come off easily when the face is merely touched or rubbed.

If you want to look matte, then this foundation is perfect for you.
In my case, I always use this to build more coverage after using LM's liquid or creme foundation and for touch ups too! Since most of the time I work for TV, Matte is the norm.
On a personal note, sometimes I go on auditions for TV commercials. Every time I do so, I always use LM's foundation powder. What I do is I wet the sponge that comes with it, dab it unto the powder and apply it generously on my face. Using this foundation this way will give you a "soft focus" look with out the dewiness.
This product is very easy to use, you could not possibly go wrong! I also like the fact that it comes with a puff and a sponge because, I use the sponge for the powder foundation and I use the puff for my LM setting powder.
Since I'm constantly on the go, Laura Mercier's foundation compact is very portable and "storage-able". This has a permanent spot in my make up kit and i never leave with out it.

This really gives awesome coverage and is very comfortable to wear. I've never had an easy time finding the "perfect" foundation color (everything was too dark, too light, etc) but my search has come to an end. Once I've finished my makeup and stepped into natural light, I can see this has blended seamlessly into my skin. I'm also happy to say that this has nice oil-control as well, and doesn't irritate my skin (my skin tends to get quite shiny and I've been told by a dermatologist that I have sensitive skin). This is my perfect foundation and I couldn't be happier with it.

this powder is the best i have ever found. you do not need too much to get great full coverage. it gives a flawless look but a natural flawless look, not thick caked on make-up. it is very soft and you do not feel like your even wearing make-up...... you will love this powder!

I have sensitive/dry skin so I usually shy away from wearing powder, but this is very finely milled and always looks great. For purposes of providing extra coverage and setting my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, it does an excellent job. I highly recommend this.

I recently received a sample of this in Intesity 2 and I'm absolutely pleased with how well this covers and how little product I really need! This really does control oil exceptionally well and you can control the level of coverage by using less or more. Great Foundation!

First off the shades are wonderful for yellow/neutral toned people. This is my go-to foundation when I need a quick application. Actually I find I use it quite often, even when I don't need to apply foundation in a hurry. I dust it on with a large powder brush and the coverage is nice, light and flawless. If I need extra coverage in certain spots, I'll use the sponge in those areas. It's natural looking , covers well and doesn't cake up or change color during the day...everything you could ask for from a powder foundation...except for more in the package. It runs out too quickly. I can't imagine how many of these I'd go through if I used it with the puff or the sponge only and didn't dust it on.

I hope they never get rid of this; I fear the "mineral craze" has usurped old-school powder foundation. I am not personally a fan of loose minerals and feel this is a far superior product. It is like having a whole wardrobe of foundation-you can wear it dry , applied with a brush, for a fresh, natural coverage. you can apply it dry with a sponge for fuller coverage. You can apply it with a damp sponge for maximum coverage. you can even use it over traditional foundation in areas you desire extra coverage.And none of that weird "sheen" you can get from minerals.
