I typically prefer to let my skin breathe and not wear any type of coverage, but as time passes I'm realizing I need some coverage and it needs to contain an SPF. For a more illuminating effect (as the name implies), this product is amazing. I typically reach for this for a date night or special night out. If you're hypercritical of an illuminating effect or want to wear in direct sunlight, I'd recommend blending with another tinted moisturizer or going over certain areas with a powder. This is lightweight and lets my skin breathe. I am happy I tried it out in the store to check out the shades. I found the Warm Radiance to be a lighter than my own skin match, but did an amazing job of toning down ruddiness. I typically wear LM Rich Vanilla loose mineral powder foundation in warmer months, and Real Sand when I'm paler, often blending the two. My fiance has an eagles eye towards anything shimmery or unnatural looking, he said this "looks perfect," as I was concerned it may not be a match. I'm looking forward to playing around more with other shades in the line to really custom blend a shade. The coverage provided by this is sheer, but it works. A woman I work with uses this, I would have never guessed she used anything, she just looks like she has great skin. Laura Mercier owns the world of base coverage for perfect skin.

A Must Have For Older Skin!!

I have been using this product for over a year now and EVERY time I wear it, people compliment me on my skin. People say my skin glows or that my skin looks flawless. I mix it with my regular foundation or when I want to put on makeup quickly and do not have time for my "full face" routine, I sparingly use it for a fresh and natural glow by blending it from the top of my nose outward using light strokes with my foundation brush or fingertips. It gives me some coverage with luminosity. It is a must have for women with older skin who do not want that "cakey" "dried out" look. It makes my skin look younger, dewy with a healthy glow. I totally love this product. I will never be without it and it is worth every penny

I have this product in Warm Radiance; I will say if you're hesitating between 2 colors online go for the lighter as the product is WAY darker than what the graphic suggests.
That being said, I have young, almost-perfect skin and the dewyness draws a lot of attention to my features, which is great, but can understand why mature ladies wouldn't want all that shimmer around fine lines. I plan to mix this with my normal foundation when needing more coverage or trying it 1:1 with regular moisturizer for a light finish or in warm weather. Overall I felt it gave me a healthy "bathed in candlelight" glow, especially when paired with a cheek stain it looks like I've been working out or just back from vacation. The SPF is great because normally I have to apply sunscreen under my foundation.
The reason I rated it down a touch on value is I do feel it's a tad on the pricey side, but it is a large serving and should last a while. Had no problems washing it off.

I have worn foundation only a few times in my life. I don't like the way it feels on my face -- too heavy (and often too stinky). Fortunately, I don't need a lot of coverage, but as I age, I feel I need a little something. Otherwise, my skin seems dull. So I have often searched for the ideal tinted moisturizer. LM's Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer is close, but even it feels a little thick and heavy for me. So I mix it with my regular moisturizer (2 parts regular, 1 part tinted). The result is just what I was searching for. Diluting it with moisturizer also helps get the right level of shimmer with this "illuminating" formula. At full strength it's probably too shimmery for my 50+ skin. Diluted, it's perfect. (Side note: I love that SPF = 20. So many moisturizers are only 15.)

I was trying out new products at a Laura Mercier counter when the makeup artist told me to give this product a try. She applied it on for me, and it was just too shimmery! I personally like a more healthy natural look. If you prefer to have some shimmer on your face, I would recommend mixing this product with the normal tinted moisturizer (without illumination), then apply it to your face.

If you are over 50 and especially over 60, this must be used sparingly or you will end up looking like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz.
Because I do like the "light" of this product, I mix in my palm, 1 part Illuminating tint with 3 parts matte tint in order to avoid being disturbingly luminescent.

I first received some as a sample and from then one I had to have it in the full size. You can use it as a lightly as a highlighter on your cheekbones, forehead, bridge of nose and chin or mix it in with your Tinted Moisturizer or Foundation.
It is so versatile, it just gives you a natural healthy glow as you are in control of the amount that you use. If you get a little heavy handed blend it down with a makeup sponge or brush. It is very forgiving and I adore it without a doubt.

Awarded tinted moisturiser. But i found that this illuminating moisturise should also be awarded for its shiny and vibrant product. Upon first application, it actually brightened up my face (even without using the primer) but of course if i need to attend event at night, i will apply primer prior to this for an ultimate long lasting effect (from morning to night), with just a minor touch up .. Wonderful and great product which i will go for it for my next purchase..

I am a huge makeup junkie and have tried it all. I was looking for a change to my regular foundation and tried this out. It is just beautiful...you can wear it alone or I love to mix it with my LM oil-free foundation and I have a beautiful, radiant finish. Feels very light and is not overly glittery. If you are feeling a little dull give it a try....but I'm warning you, you will be forever hooked to everything LM.

I do not like alot of make up and need a fast face. I love the LM you tube video on how to do the perfect and flawless face. I use the illuminizing version of the TM (and also do not use the concealer).
It is not too illuminizing (I do not beam) but it does add radiance. It blends really well with my skin. I also use another TM in other areas, and tend to use this on my cheaks, and other areas that I want a bit more highlight and brightening. During the dry winter drab months I will use it all over
A little goes a long way. I just tossed the remaining in a 1.7 oz bottle as I used for years and never used the entire product. I repurchased to get fresh product to ensure the SPF was in tact.
Just a dab here and and a dab there
My skin is dry and this really helps
Is very lightweight on skin but provides more coverage than other TM on the market
This one is a real winner for us older gals with dry but yet still a nice complexion that we do not want to "cover up", and who want an easy cant go wrong fast application in the morning

I am 60 years old with dry skin. I have used various skin care and foundations over the years. It was easy when I had young, smooth flawless skin; however, years of sun exposure has left my skin less than desirable. Most foundations, no matter the amount of coverage, tended to cake into the creases of my skin. Some looked fine the first 30 minutes on the face, but, after a couple of hours not so good. A friend told me about this product .. gave it a try. I LOVE IT!!! Just the right amount of illumination and coverage. No more caking in creases, my skin looks alive!!! Glows!! Cannot recommend this enough!!!

When you want a glow from within, use this product with a cream or gel blush, light colors on the eyes, and a nice gloss. Don't use it for occasions when you want fantastic photos to last a lifetime - stick to foundation for that, or regular tinted moisturizer. Illuminating is too much. But when you want to look great in person, go for it. A favorite for weekends or casual days at work - not business meeting days. Best in spring.

This product is perfect and i never got more compliments on my skin than after using illuminating tinted moisturizer. I've used it for over a year now and have no intention of using anything else. Try it you will not regret it!!!!

I love the texture, it sinks nicely into the skin and I love the spf 20. however, it is too shimmery for allover facial use, i kind of look flat and like a robot if i use this alone, i like it best mixed 1:1 with the regular tinted moisturizer to give a boost of shimmer. In the summer it's great on the chest, shoulders, anywhere you're exposed and want a bit of glam of your skin. it does not cause pimples or breakouts which is a huge bonus!
