I love this powder! It does not "cake" like many powders and works very well for oily spots (i.e. my nose/forehead). Provides a nice matte finish. I sometimes just use it over the secret camouflage (on blemishes) and under my eyes on top of the secret concealer, which seems to add the finishing touch.

A couple of years ago LM ran a grabbag event on their site and one of the sets has a half size of this powder. at the time I didn't really think to use it as I was new to makeup, but last year I started using it and it is AMAZING. I've tried a lot of other loose powders after I started using the LM one, and nothing has yet to compare to it, not even the Makeup Forever HD powder!
This is a loose translucent setting powder that offers no coverage, but sets my foundation/tm/whatever and gives this absolutely gorgeous finish to whatever i'm wearing. It's never cakey and always gives me a smooth appearance at the end. It also has zero shimmer "illuminating" properties to it (unlike a lot of other powders) so i don't get any discoball face.
and this is absolutely and AMAZING value. I have the half size and it has lasted me over a year now, and i'm still nowhere near being done with it. It being powder means it won't go bad, which means you're expecting to use this for ages! I always end up going back to my pot of this after I stray for a little bit, because nothing compares.

I use this on top of my tinted moisturizer and concealer from LM. My skin is vey dry, and this powder works well at setting my makeup wthout over-drying my skin!! It never creases on me, feels invisible, and a little goes a long way!! Definitely worth it!!

I think this will last me the rest of my life. You only need such a small amount, and I have found the same to be true with the white secret brightening powder, so it is a very good investment. Buy once and you are done (I doubt it goes "bad" given the way it is packaged and how you use it)
I am confused and find the LM website and products confusing as to which to use where and when and how (the secret whitening powder underey, the translucent powder and her new sheer powder ....)
I only use the LM tinted moisturizer which can make me look shinny in the summer at times, so purchased this to set my make up . It also comes in the flawless face kit for under eyes
So, I am not sure how to use and how this is now different from the new LM translucent powder with fan
Since it lasts forever, I would not mind buying the new powder with fan brush if I knew which powder goes with what and or how to differentiate....
LM needs to do a much better job describing what products go with each powder and how to use
Right now it is pretty much undefined and confusing, and I wuold rather have less in my make up kit than more
Easy and less is more is what I want

This is the best powder to set your face, especially when using LM oil-free tinted moisturizer. Keeps you looking great and polished, not too made up. Definitely packs a good amount of oil-control, too. I used to carry a pressed powder compact everywhere, but I definitely need it less when I've used this in the morning.I am fair, so the light color is not a problem for me, but might lighten the skintones of darker-skinned women. Just use a brush and brush all-over face.

It's one of the bset powders I have ever used because it so natural,semi-matte,never sparkly or cakey. I love that this powder is very light-weight it also has great shine-protection. The powder keeps my face oil and shine free for about 6 hours and helps makes my makeup long lasting.

but I just don't. From the description and other reviewers' comments, I expected a powder that would wow me. Maybe just a little shimmer to it, something that would help my makeup last all day and would look great on me. I applied it using the "proper method" with the Velour Puff LM sells. It left me looking a little paler than I like (and paler than when I use LM's Translucent Pressed Powder). It did not help my makeup to last longer- to the contrary, unfortunately. My blush disappeared in an hour! I don't have oily skin, so no, it was not because it seeped into my pores or anything. I have to give it three stars because it is a decent value for the money and it doesn't clog pores or anything. I don't have skin that gets shiny, so I can't say whether it works for that issue. This is no magic product. I'm going back to the Pressed Powder when I use this up.

I tried this product after my best friend recommended it and now I'm hooked! I never understood the point of applying a translucent loose setting powder over my foundation or powder foundation until I tried this product. I love the finish it gives and it definitely makes a difference in the way my makeup looks, feels, and lasts.

I've only recently tried several Laura Mercier face products (primer, foundation, concealer, setting powder), and one thing that's been very helpful is the application tips online showing which combinations work well together.
