As I've aged I've been on the look-out for under eye products to lighten the area of my greatest concern. I don't have just dark circles, I have what I call the beginnings of 'suitcases.' Perhaps someday I'll be interested in an under-eye lift, I'm 62, but for now I just wanted to find a helpful product. After reading reviews and having been very pleased with previous LM products, I tried the Secret Brightening Powder over my favorite concealer. My 'suitcases' faded immediately into background instead of being what I felt was the focus of my face. After completing my makeup routine I used a fluffy brush and dabbed a tiny bit of Brightner under each eye and VIOLA!!!! I gently swept away any loose powder and I am ready to flaunt my face!!! I am more than happy with this product and highly recommend it to faces that are losing the youthful glow. Thank you Laura Mercier!!!
This is the only powder I have found that works to set my concealer & brightens as well. Most powders settle into fine lines. This one takes very little & really keeps everything on. I thought this was a luxury addition, but if your going to use the secret concealer it's a must-have! Great product.
I was getting my makeup done by a LM makeup artist and she was going step by step what products she was using on me and what it does. When she came to this product, I just thought, "Oh, just another product for me to purchase, I bet." But WOW... this secret brightening powder really does what it says!! It is crazy how this works. My eyes look so much brighter; I was completely amazed! I have yet to purchase this product, but I will definitely be getting this sometime in the future.
I have extremely dark under eye circles (it's hereditary). I don't usually like to spend money on makeup unless I know it's going to work, then I'll spend whatever. This is one of those products. Totally worth every penny. Before using this product, my eyeliner and mascara would run under my eyes making my already dark circles, even darker. This is a miracle worker. It really does what it says it does. Since using this product, my under eyes are brighter, I don't look tired, and my mascara and eyeliner do not run anymore.
I'm usually not much for an extra step, but this one is well worth it and then some. Alone, it brings light to my cheeks and the bridge of my nose. With my Secret Brightening it helps extend the area of the affect while softening the edges. The powder never settles in fine lines, going on more smoothly than any other powder I own.
When i don't have enought sleep, i just look like a panda where everyone thinks that im sick. This little thing has so much product in there. You can barely finish this thing! This sounds so cliche, but it works wonders. Its really wierd how it can instantly brighten up ur eyes with just two swipes!
I began my first job out of grad school last month, and its been extremely demanding and time consuming! I need to look professional and alert, even when I'm not getting enough beauty sleep! The secret brightening powder is THE solution for under-eye darkness or circles! I dust it over a combination of secret concealer #1 and mauve rose under eye perfecter. It's amazing how bright and awake I can look all day long. I never want to leave the house for work OR play without it on!!

This is a wonderful setting powder for any concealer and just makes those darkish spots disappear. It keeps concealer from congealing in the wrinkles. And, you can use it on plain, old skin, too. Love it.
Set the secret brightener with this powder and you're good to go all day. The small pot lasts forever because you only need a smidge. (Use too much and it actually turns the area darker...)
I have had mine for several years, lasts forever. The trick is to use the correct brush, and to be sure to tap off the excess. If your eyes are looking too white, you are using too much. For my more "mature" eye area it works great, doesn't accent any lines and makes the skin around my eyes look really smooth. One of the best products the gal at the counter sold me on.
Secret Brightening Powder is the best product for setting undereye concealer. It is super light, imperceptible, brightens the area, and lasts all day without getting cakey, even on my super dry eye area. You only need the tiniest amount for it to be effective, which makes this product such a great value. Seriously, I use it dailly and the container lasted me over 3 years! I actually just replenished it today.
This stuff is AMAZING! When I use this to set my under-eye concealer, it just blends right in, never looks cakey - it just leaves you with this satiny finish, which I never had. Wonderful product!
This is a wonderful finishing step that brightens under the eyes without looking shimmery, sparkly or shiny -- just "brighter." I apply it with the Laura brush for this purpose -- really does help with easy application. The powder is feathery light and the jar will last for years, you need so little to do the trick. Great special product!
my make up application process will never be complete with out using Secret Brightening Powder.
I use this to set concealer and camouflage, which is perfect to brighten up dark under eye areas or to press over blemishes so that it will disappear when light touches the face. This is the best product when you need to brighten up your under eye area.
most of the time i spread this product from the under eye down to the apples of the cheeks. i make sure that the blush and secret brightening powder diffuse into one another so that i could create a flawless gradation of color.
I strongly recommend that one should purchase Secret Brightening Powder to further enhance the beauty of one's Base.
Though this product is a little expensive and it comes in a small container but one would only use a minute amount to achieve a fresh and bright look.
Either Translucent powder or Secret Brightening Powder can be used to set concealer, but I love the brightening effect from this powder. It's very subtle, not glittery, but it helps. It's a good value because you only need a tiny amount.
Haven't seen anything else like this! I have tried both #1 and #2. For reference, I use the Nude tinted moisturizer. I use the #2 during the summer, when I want a more bronze look. I use the #1 during the winter. The #1 is also great brushed on eyelids to brighten up the eyse. I recommend also purchasing the brightening powder brush that Laura offers, since it helps with application.
I would say that it does look a bit powdery under the eyes over a creamy concealer (like Laura's), but it is not any more powdery than other loose setting powders. I have recommended this to friends who only need a bit of the powder under their eyes-- sans concealer, or with only a tiny dab of brightener-- and the effect is obviously less powdery, since there is less make-up caked on.
The jar is huge for the tiny bit you use under your eyes every day.
Attributes: Effective, beautiful matte but not dry finish
I used to use what was left of Laura's loose translucent powder on my puff to set my undereye concealer - but what I really needed was this secret brightening powder. What a difference. I had a makeup artist (Bloomie's) show me how to use it and I have to say that not much product is needed. Literally press your brush into the cap of the powder, tap off excess, and gently place over your undereye concealer - that's it. I get a matte finish without the dryness I was used to. It's a slight lift of brightness without looking obvious.
I love this product. I used to use Benefit's Powderflage, but this is better. After undereye concealing, I apply this to finish off. It brightens and finishes. Must-have product!
