I use this on a nightly basis and always wake up with lips that are soft and smooth, ready for lipstick application. When I've tried using it during the day, it seems to exfoliate my lipstick right off, so I don't recommend using it with other lip products during the day if you want to keep them in place!

I was glad to try this product as I have been a devoutee of the Lip Balm for years and for some odd reason had never tried this until this winter. I really find just a little bit applied to my lips before bed keeps them nice and supple. My only wish is that the product came in a larger size as I apply it every night 365 days a year, not just in the winter time. It is an excellent product and I plan on continuing to wear it every night.

You know when you get a cold and you can only breathe through your mouth when you sleep and your lips get crazy dry and hurt? This is the miracle potion you've been waiting for! Your lips will feel like silk, and will stay cushioned and hydrated! I've been using this since 2002 and am still totally in love with this product!

It has the best consistency, stays put. Keeps lips soft. It's the last thing I put on before going to bed every night. Speaking of which 1 tube lasts me a long time, even w/using it every day.

I loved it, loved it, loved it - AT FIRST. However, I soon discovered that Lip Silk has a salicylic acid-type component to it. My lips were really dried out. Although exfoliation is a good thing, I don't like to exfoliate my lips.

This gently exfoliates the flakes and dryness so that your lips can more effectively receive hydration. Why slather waxy balms over flaky dehydrated lips? This sloughs all that off with gentle fruit acuds. try it at night and in the morning your ips will be super soft.

This is one of the few products I would not recommend. I prefer LM's lip balm to this product, as it really doesn't seem that much more effective, especially for the price. it does last a very long time though.

Best Lip Moisturizer

This was the first product I purchased of Laura Mercier and the only lip moisturizer I now use. It is smooth and silky and no goopy feel at all. HIghly recommend it.

No more winter dry lips

I purchased this product last winter because my lips just get so dry and flaky! I use it by itself at night and in the morning, my lips are so hydrated! What I like most is that it is not greasy and since it is so hydrating, my lipstick looks better the next day. I have also paired this with a lip stain underneath for a smooth, but not too shiny finish during the day.

I have been using Laura Mercier products for years--skin care, make-up--and I love them all. But perhaps my very favorite, the one I turn to most often, the one I have at least three of at any time, is the lip silk. It's a conditioner, a moisturizer, and if you use it once, you will be hooked. Not a chapstick or a gloss--it really absorbs into the lips, makes them softer and gently exfolliates. I often use lip silk, apply a little lip liner, blend, and i am good to go.
